Enjoying Swiss Cuisine in a 700-Year-Old Gothic Restaurant

This place used to be a Gothic guild hall dating back to the 13th century. It’s over 700 years old! Located by Lake Zurich, you can dine either by the lakeside outdoors or inside the charming Gothic attic. The historic atmosphere is truly unique. (I heard the attic is super popular and often fully booked!) 🏰 🌟 **Daily Special Soup - Clear Tomato Soup** Ordered this on the enthusiastic recommendation of the staff. The clear soup is made from fresh tomatoes and basil, strained to perfection. It’s refreshing yet full of tomato flavor. 🍅 🌟 **Veal Sliced Zurich Style** This was hands down the best traditional Swiss dish I’ve ever had. The veal is tender and finely sliced, served with mushroom sauce and Rösti (Swiss potato pancakes). Locals call it Zürcher Geschnetzeltes. Highly recommended! 🥩 🌟 **Foie Gras Served Three Ways** A must for foie gras lovers! It comes as foie gras mousse, pan-seared foie gras, and foie gras pistachio chocolate balls. The flavors are rich but not greasy, and it pairs perfectly with bread. 🍗 Since I went for lunch, I didn’t order much or try the desserts. Next time I’m in Zurich, I’ll definitely come back and sit in the attic! 🥩 📍 **Haus zum Rüden** Open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am-11pm ‼️ Closed on Sundays and Mondays, so don’t make a trip for nothing! #Switzerland #SwissTravel #SwissTravelTips #EuropeTravel #FoodDiary #Zurich #ZurichTravel #SwissCuisine #ZurichFood #RestaurantRecommendation
