Enjoying the Trendy Japanese Parfaits in Seattle
😋 The matcha here is exceptionally rich. The matcha latte is smooth, robust, and easy to drink, with the matcha perfectly blended. 🍵 They offer three types of matcha powder to choose from, each with distinct flavor profiles described on the menu. We tried the Kyoto and Mie varieties—Kyoto has a subtle salty note, while Mie is more bitter. Personally, I preferred Kyoto. In addition to the matcha selection, there are also many preparation styles to choose from for drinks. 🍨 The parfaits are not only beautiful but delicious, packed with various toppings. The matcha flavor is excellent, but the sakura version, as always, is overpriced and underwhelming. In my opinion, the matcha parfait at Tendon Kohaku has a stronger matcha taste and a creamier texture compared to Nana’s. They also offer limited daily onigiri (rice balls), which are quite tasty. The nori is served separately to keep it crispy—perfect for wrapping. These usually sell out by the afternoon. Note: The Seattle location serves curry rice 🍛, but the Bellevue branch does not offer rice dishes. With a variety of matcha cakes, desserts, ice creams, and matcha drinks, this is a spot worth revisiting again and again.
