Eucalyptus Trail in Chino Hills: A Walk With Donkeys & Nature 🐴🌿

Lately I’ve been wanting to spend more time in nature around LA—but as a low-energy person, intense hiking that requires climbing with hands and feet is just not for me. 🙅♀️ So when I saw someone recommend Eucalyptus Trail, I knew I had to check it out! 🌳 The full loop is just 3 miles—super manageable and relaxing. What made our route a little different: we parked at 📍3178 Eucalyptus Ave, Chino Hills, CA 91709 (free open parking lot!), and started walking in the direction of the houses 🏡→, passing horse ranches along the way before starting the gentle climb. This path is much better than starting from the opposite side (like in some maps)! Why? The first half is mostly flat and sunny ☀️, but the novelty of seeing animals and farms keeps it interesting. Just when you start feeling a bit tired (it’s really only a short hill—maybe 10-15 mins up), you reach the top and are rewarded with views of distant snow-capped mountains 🏔️ and endless rolling neighborhoods. Plus, there’s often a cool breeze that instantly re-energizes you! 💨 It feels much more motivating than saving all the best views for the beginning and ending with a long, uneventful descent. This trail is perfect for fresh air without overexertion. You can check the full route on AllTrails—the whole loop takes just over an hour. 👟🗺️ Also, so many people bring their dogs here! 🐕❤️ March and April would be an even better time to visit, though—right now the grass is pretty dry, but by spring everything should be lush and green. 🌸 Have you been on any light, scenic trails around LA lately? Share your recommendations—I’d love to explore more! 💬👇 #CountryWalk #FarmTrail #TrailRecommendation #LALife #ChinoHills #OCArea #LosAngeles #LAHiking #WeekendAdventure #HealingViews
