Even the Ants Passing Through New Orleans Stop for a Bite Here
TLDR: N7 and Paladar 511 get an 8/10 from me. Fiery Crab is delicious and unbeatable for value đ! âȘ N7 Such a great hidden gem with amazing ambianceâyouâll find it behind an unassuming door on the street, like a little secret đȘ! It serves French-Japanese fusion, and the combination is absolutely fantastic (who knew these two cuisines go so well together? đ€€)! We went for brunch, but their dinner menu looks just as incredible. The soup du jour (soup of the day) was outstandingârich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, like a warm hug in a bowl â€ïž. The server was a friendly French grandpa who chatted with us and made the experience even warmerâtotal bonus points! Fun fact: They have a sister restaurant in Kyoto, and the chef behind N7 is a Japanese woman. Highly recommend this spotâyou wonât be disappointed! âȘ Paladar 511 A must-try, especially for squid ink spaghetti! The seasoning is surprisingly similar to Chinese flavorsâso delicious, itâll make your taste buds sing, and youâll want to lick the plate clean đ! Itâs also a great choice for a date night (the vibe is cozy, dim, and romanticâperfect for couples đ)! The Wagyu Steak was just okayâhonestly, it tasted about the same as what youâd get at Texas Roadhouse (nothing special, sadly đ„©â). But all the other dishes more than made up for it. Donât skip the ice cream sundaeâcreamy, sweet, and topped with all the good stuff (nuts, syrup, whipped cream)! Itâs the perfect sweet ending to the meal đŠ! âȘ Fiery Crab A Louisiana chain restaurant thatâs so goodâand the prices are amazing (total budget-friendly win đ°)! My partner and I both have big appetites, but we only spent around $25 per personâunheard of for this quality! All the fried items are delicious (crispy, not greasyâchefâs kiss đ©đł)! The catfish was a little fishy (minor flaw đâ ïž), but the White Fish and Shrimp are highly recommendedâjuicy and full of flavor. They have great specials before 3 PM on weekday lunchesâunbeatable prices! If you can, go on a weekday afternoonâyouâll eat until youâre stuffed and have to walk it off (in the best way)! đ¶âïž The charbroiled oysters are incredibleâsmoky, cheesy, and briny đŠȘ! The only downside is the portion is small, so youâll want to order at least a dozen (trust me, one isnât enough)! âȘ Other Asian Restaurants (Decent, Not Mind-Blowing) If youâre craving Asian food after eating too much Western cuisine (weâve all been there đ„Ą), these spots are solid options: Sukho Thai Their curry is just average (nothing to write home about đâ), but the pad thai is goodânoodles with the right chew, and the sauce is balanced. The tuna salad is delicious too (fresh tuna, crisp veggiesâyummy đ„)! (I heard the tuna is imported from ThailandâI couldnât tell the difference, but it tasted great either way!) The tom yum soup was a little off (not tangy or spicy enoughâmissing that classic kick đâ ïž). The pineapple fried rice tastes like soy sauce fried rice from homeâcomforting and familiar, like momâs cooking đđ! Donât miss the coconut ice creamâcreamy, sweet, and with a hint of coconutârefreshing after spicy food đ„„! I Love Noods Their ramen and pho are goodâbroth is flavorful, and the portions are generous (no leaving hungry here đ)! The cucumber salad tastes just like the (cold tossed cucumber) from homeâcrunchy, tangy, and super nostalgic (made me miss home a little đ„â€ïž)! The restaurant is clean, and they also serve boba tea (chewy pearls, yes please đ§) and dim sum (steamed buns, dumplingsâsimple but good). Itâs a great pick when youâre tired of Western food and want something familiar. #NOLA #NewOrleans #RestaurantRecommendations #USATravel
