Even the Ants Passing Through New Orleans Stop for a Bite Here

TLDR: N7 and Paladar 511 get an 8/10 from me. Fiery Crab is delicious and unbeatable for value 🌟! â–Ș N7 Such a great hidden gem with amazing ambiance—you’ll find it behind an unassuming door on the street, like a little secret đŸšȘ! It serves French-Japanese fusion, and the combination is absolutely fantastic (who knew these two cuisines go so well together? đŸ€€)! We went for brunch, but their dinner menu looks just as incredible. The soup du jour (soup of the day) was outstanding—rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, like a warm hug in a bowl ❀. The server was a friendly French grandpa who chatted with us and made the experience even warmer—total bonus points! Fun fact: They have a sister restaurant in Kyoto, and the chef behind N7 is a Japanese woman. Highly recommend this spot—you won’t be disappointed! â–Ș Paladar 511 A must-try, especially for squid ink spaghetti! The seasoning is surprisingly similar to Chinese flavors—so delicious, it’ll make your taste buds sing, and you’ll want to lick the plate clean 😋! It’s also a great choice for a date night (the vibe is cozy, dim, and romantic—perfect for couples 💑)! The Wagyu Steak was just okay—honestly, it tasted about the same as what you’d get at Texas Roadhouse (nothing special, sadly đŸ„©âŒ). But all the other dishes more than made up for it. Don’t skip the ice cream sundae—creamy, sweet, and topped with all the good stuff (nuts, syrup, whipped cream)! It’s the perfect sweet ending to the meal 🍩! â–Ș Fiery Crab A Louisiana chain restaurant that’s so good—and the prices are amazing (total budget-friendly win 💰)! My partner and I both have big appetites, but we only spent around $25 per person—unheard of for this quality! All the fried items are delicious (crispy, not greasy—chef’s kiss đŸ‘©đŸł)! The catfish was a little fishy (minor flaw đŸŸâš ïž), but the White Fish and Shrimp are highly recommended—juicy and full of flavor. They have great specials before 3 PM on weekday lunches—unbeatable prices! If you can, go on a weekday afternoon—you’ll eat until you’re stuffed and have to walk it off (in the best way)! đŸš¶â™€ïž The charbroiled oysters are incredible—smoky, cheesy, and briny đŸŠȘ! The only downside is the portion is small, so you’ll want to order at least a dozen (trust me, one isn’t enough)! â–Ș Other Asian Restaurants (Decent, Not Mind-Blowing) If you’re craving Asian food after eating too much Western cuisine (we’ve all been there đŸ„Ą), these spots are solid options: Sukho Thai Their curry is just average (nothing to write home about 🍛❌), but the pad thai is good—noodles with the right chew, and the sauce is balanced. The tuna salad is delicious too (fresh tuna, crisp veggies—yummy đŸ„—)! (I heard the tuna is imported from Thailand—I couldn’t tell the difference, but it tasted great either way!) The tom yum soup was a little off (not tangy or spicy enough—missing that classic kick đŸœâš ïž). The pineapple fried rice tastes like soy sauce fried rice from home—comforting and familiar, like mom’s cooking 🍍🍚! Don’t miss the coconut ice cream—creamy, sweet, and with a hint of coconut—refreshing after spicy food đŸ„„! I Love Noods Their ramen and pho are good—broth is flavorful, and the portions are generous (no leaving hungry here 🍜)! The cucumber salad tastes just like the (cold tossed cucumber) from home—crunchy, tangy, and super nostalgic (made me miss home a little đŸ„’â€ïž)! The restaurant is clean, and they also serve boba tea (chewy pearls, yes please 🧋) and dim sum (steamed buns, dumplings—simple but good). It’s a great pick when you’re tired of Western food and want something familiar. #NOLA #NewOrleans #RestaurantRecommendations #USATravel
