Ever Tried Rappelling? The 40-Meter-High Kind? @Utah 😮🧗♂️

How do you conquer a fear of heights? My method: firmly decide not to look down — at least not until you’re ready.💕 Let me be honest — the hardest part isn’t the descent itself. It’s those first few steps backward toward the edge of the cliff. Your heart hammers, your mind races, and every instinct tells you to stay on solid ground. But then you lean back… and trust the rope.👍 And then something magical happens. Once you’re suspended in mid-air, something shifts. The fear doesn’t completely vanish, but it transforms into focus — into presence. I actually asked to pause halfway during my first big rappel in Moab, Utah. Hanging there, 20 meters above the red canyon floor, I made myself breathe. I looked around — really looked. And what I saw wasn’t scary. It was stunning.🎶 The vast desert landscape of Utah stretched out all around — deep canyons, towering sandstone arches, and endless blue sky. It felt less like an adrenaline rush and more like meditation. The wind brushed past, the rope hummed lightly, and for a moment, it was just me and the immense, beautiful silence of the wilderness.😁 That’s the thing about rappelling — especially here around Moab. It’s not just about getting down a cliff. It’s about leaning into the fear, trusting your gear (and your guide!), and allowing yourself to experience a place very few people get to see — from mid-air.😂 Whether you’re dangling next to a waterfall in a hidden canyon, descending into a narrow slot, or abseiling down a sun-warmed rock face with views over Arches National Park — you’re not just overcoming height, you’re embracing a new perspective. Literally.😊 So yes — I rappelled. I didn’t look down immediately. I looked forward. Then I looked within. And eventually, I looked below… and smiled. 😌 Have you tried rappelling?
