Experiencing Royal Elegance in an Ancient Town
Esztergom is a small city one of the three towns along the Danube Bend, nestled beside the Danube River. Across the river lies Slovakia . The history of Esztergom dates back to 971, and in 1001, King Stephen I was born here. From the 10th to the 13th century, it served as the capital of Hungary and the royal residence. The Esztergom Basilica , also known as the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Cathedral , is the largest and most important church in Hungary. It is the second-largest church in Europe and the fourth-largest in the world. 😍😍😍 The basilica boasts a grand exterior and exquisite interior decorations. The painting of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary inside the church is the largest single oil painting in the world. Visitors can also climb to the top of the basilica for panoramic views of Esztergom. 😂😂😂 Across the river is the Slovak town of Sturovo . The Széchenyi Chain Bridge (Maria Valeria Bridge), completed in 1895 and spanning approximately 500 meters, connects these two towns. From the bridge, you can enjoy the scenic views along both sides of the Danube. 👍👍👍 Cuisine : - Primate Cellar Restaurant : Located beneath the basilica, this restaurant offers delicious meals and a chance to taste fine wines, as well as learn about traditional winemaking methods. - Mediterraneo Restaurant : Situated near the Maria Valeria Bridge, this renowned restaurant is often frequented by celebrities and has won several culinary awards.
