Exploring Berlin | Tapas Lovers, Come Quick!

This is a casual and spontaneous find of a Spanish restaurant with high Google ratings. We didn’t make a reservation and just walked in, ordering the following: 🍽️ Albóndigas: These are meatballs made of pork and beef, served with a tomato sauce. Since I’m not a fan of tomato-based foods (not into ketchup or tomato hotpot), this Tapas didn’t quite suit my taste buds. 🦑 Calamares a la Romana: Fried calamari is one of the most classic tapas! The outer layer is crispy, while the inside is tender, paired with lemon and garlic mayonnaise. You absolutely must try it! 🌶️ Pimientos de Padrón: Another super classic tapas dish! These small green peppers are sautéed in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. Surprisingly, this pepper is not spicy at all—much more flavorful than any roasted pepper I’ve had before. Highly recommended! 🫒 Aceitunas: I used to dislike olives, but after visiting Spain and Italy, I realized I had never tried good olives. After tasting delicious olives, it opened up a whole new world of flavors for me! Personally, I think green olives are tastier than black ones, and I could easily finish a portion of the olives from this place all by myself. Highly recommend! 🐙 Pulpo a la Gallega: This dish features octopus that is boiled, sliced, and topped with coarse salt, paprika, and olive oil, served with boiled, skin-on baby potatoes. It’s a specialty from the Galicia region in northern Spain. The octopus is not over-seasoned, allowing the natural flavor to shine through; it’s tender, and the potatoes are simply seasoned with coarse salt and olive oil. Delicious! We only ordered these few small dishes, and it cost us over €60, which made us ponder the prices in Berlin 💸. #BerlinExploration #GermanCuisine #RestaurantHoppingInGermany
