Fairbanks Food Exploration|The Crepery & Aurora Crepe & Peking Duck In the snowy world of Fairbanks, Alaska, The Crepery is a crepe shop highly recommended by local drivers. After returning from the Arctic Circle, we couldn’t wait to try their takeout—ordering three flavors: Alaska Breakfast, Crab, and Strawberry Cheesecake. Among them, Alaska Breakfast was the most delightful surprise! 🥞🍳 The crepe was filled with fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and melted cheese—rich, satisfying, and an absolute joy for egg lovers! In comparison, the Crab flavor was rather ordinary, tasting like crab salad with mayonnaise—decent but not memorable. The Strawberry Cheesecake was also just average dessert quality, nothing special. However, after a friend raved about another flavor they tried on the first day, we made a special trip to the store for a second round! 😂 This time, we ordered Meatlover and Creme Brulee. The meat option still fell into the “pretty good” category, but the Creme Brulee was absolutely stunning! 🍮 This round crème brûlée crepe had a slightly crispy outer layer, filled with cool custard cream and a sweet, caramelized topping—the contrast of temperatures and textures made it irresistible. We might even say we came back just for this! Another spot worth mentioning is Aurora Crepe & Peking Duck. The owner is efficient and energetic, handling orders and service swiftly. 🦆 The Peking duck wrap was quite tasty—soft, chewy crepe wrapped around tender duck meat, served with hoisin sauce and cucumber strips, offering a hint of Beijing-style flavor. The seafood noodles, however, were rather plain with a light broth and modest seafood portions. The pickled vegetables added to the noodles were a pleasant surprise—a rare taste of home-style sour cabbage in Alaska. Overall, if you’re in Fairbanks and want to switch things up, The Crepery’s creative crepes are worth trying, especially the Alaska Breakfast and Creme Brulee. Meanwhile, Aurora Crepe & Peking Duck is perfect for when you’re craving Chinese flavors—a simple duck wrap and a bowl of noodles with pickled veggies can be surprisingly comforting. #Alaska#NorthernLights#Fairbanks
