Edited (9/16/2024): As I stated earlier, we wanted to sit inside, but there was no room. Your practice is certainly not up to fire code if you are to cram everyone sitting outside indoors (without available seating). You are setting yourself up for a liability case, and I encourage others to explore this route on poor weather weekends. My concerns are legitimate and I was respectful for the entirety of my interaction with staff. It was not raining at the time; this was not even in question, as the serving staff was warning us that IF it began raining... The person who responded to my comment is dishonest. The restaurant's food quality is good. However, after the response from the owner, I will advise all incoming Fairbanks visitors to not support the business.
If the person responding to google reviews could think critically and accept there's room for improvement, I would have improved my rating. But the service is apparently systemically terrible.
Visited the restaurant after hearing several positive experiences. Arrived on a busy and cloudy Saturday. The atmosphere of the restaurant was initially excellent! The menu options were great! But the service was the worst I experienced in Fairbanks, which spoiled the Creperys redeeming traits.
Due to the weather (on and off misty, never raining), the outdoor seating was very open, but some people preferred sitting outside since there was minimal available seating indoors. We had our own table outside, close to the sidewalk/road, out of everyone's way with our dog (who was well-behaved, calm, and garnering positive attention).
A waitress approached us, while we waited for food and told us that we could not have our dog with us unless he was a service animal. We respected the staff's request, put our dog in our car a few blocks away, and came back to wait for our food. We tried sitting inside due to the weather, but there was literally no spot available for my girlfriend and I. So we settled with sitting back outside, with umbrellas that the waitresses kept on reminding everyone to not open since they were "not waterproof." Which we had no issues with, but they were oblivious to how their constant reminders of these unusable umbrellas were affecting the atmosphere.
After about 10 minutes, the food arrived. The quality was good, and I would recommend it for take out. However, after 3 minutes, the waitress came out again and told us that if the misting turned to rain, we wouldn't be allowed to "be served outside." I asked if we could just sit outside and eat the food without further service, and the waitress responded that we would have to come inside because the waitress would inevitably need to grab the dishes in the rain.
I stated that there was no room inside, that we had already checked. The waitress rebutted that it was "policy" in a very argumentative manner. Shortly after, I went inside, got to-go containers, and left; shocked by the server's constant mood and atmosphere destroying behaviors.
It never rained.

Read moreMy mom & I were in Fairbanks for the start of our land & sea tour in June of 2022. Our cruise had been canceled because of covid about 2 times already, so we were so excited to be starting out our journey to Alaska. We walked from our hotel down to the visitor center, great place. My mom was 79 at the time and started saying she was ready to go back to the hotel. I was like "When do you think we'll be here again?" We were looking for a souvenir shop but weren't finding it. So I suggested finding a place to sit & have a cold drink as it was pretty warm. Well I saw the Crepery. There were some outside tables and a longish line but I didn't think my mom wanted to walk much further. After standing in line to what I think is & grab & go type door, I realize...nobody's really coming back out. So now I'm intrigued. As we get in the door & start the right hand turn inside we can see it's actually pretty a good size restaurant! "Oh, let's eat here!" After scoping out the menu we made our choices. If memory serves, I got the ham with gouda, my mom got something similar, then we got a Creme Brule to share at the suggestion of the cashier when I asked, "Blueberry or Creme Brule?"...OH MY! My coffee was great, and our food was awesome! I think of this place often from our day in Fairbanks, wish I lived closer than San Diego California. I'd visit at least once a month! I was really taken with Fairbanks & I think that The Crepery was a...
Read moreThis place is excellent. The moment I stepped foot into the building I was greeted by happy staff - the cook and cashier in particular. They welcomed me and told me to ask away if I had any questions.
I ordered the creme brulee crepe with strawberries & blueberries ($8.50) and got my order to go. I sat down and admired the interior and its surprisingly vast amount of seats, brightly colored walls, and happy music. The room next to me was filled with happy locals munching on their crepes and playing board games or reading books. There was no lack of energy and it seems like this is the perfect spot for a date or hanging out with friends.
Just before my order was ready the cook hunted me down and asked if I wanted whipped cream on my to go crepe - which he advised against if it wouldn't be eaten in the next 10 minutes. I took his advice and skipped on the whipped cream. It was very kind of him and He seemed to really love his work and value his customer service.
When I finally did get a chance to break into the crepe I found it to be so beautifully wrapped and dainty with its fruit pieces on top. I gave my husband the first bite - which went from "okay thanks" to full on devouring half of the thing as fast as he possibly could. He LOVED it.
We will definitely be coming back here to try all the other delicious creations on the menu. A big thank you to all the staff who made my day with their sweet food and even ...
