Finally checked off the ice waterfall in Seattle ❄️

❤️ I hiked to Franklin Falls, which is incredibly beautiful. I recommend wearing ice cleats and bright-colored outerwear for visibility. When taking photos, it’s advised not to get too close to the waterfall, as there’s a risk of avalanches to the left of the falls. ⭐ I went last year, but the waterfall wasn’t frozen yet, so I went again this year. If you want to see the ice waterfall, make sure to check the weather forecast in advance. If the high temperature stays below freezing for an entire week, chances are the waterfall will be frozen. 👉🏻 There are two routes to Franklin Falls: (I took route ① this time) ① Via National Forest Development Rd 58, a total of 3.8 miles, which can be completed in about 1 hour and 40 minutes round trip. The only downside is the risk of avalanches on this route, but it’s much shorter than the second route. 🅿️ You can park at the Snoqualmie Ski Area. 👉🏻 ② The original summer trail, but due to winter snow, the trailhead is inaccessible, making it longer than the summer route. It’s a total of 6.9 miles, which can be completed in about 3 hours round trip. ⚠️ Note that in winter, parking here requires a sno-park permit!! You can buy one directly from REI or the official website!!! #Seattle #SeattleSurroundings #IceWaterfall #SeattleWeekend #SeattleHiking #OutdoorHiking #HikingToWorldsEnd #SnowyWaterfall #SonyA6000 #InspirationNotes #WhereToGoThisWeekend #WaterfallPhotos #Samoyed #SamoyedCottonCandy #SamoyedDaily
