Finally got to try M9 beef in Australia

📍 The Meat & Wine Co Located in Canberra's city center, surrounded by high-rises with floor-to-ceiling windows and upscale restaurants, it gives off a vibe like Beijing's CBD—somehow clashing with Canberra's earthy charm... I’d call this area: "The Oriental Pearl in the middle of a farm." 🍃 Ambience & Atmosphere: A modern yet elegant feel. During the day, tall floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light (though it probably feels more stylish at night, perfect for dates). The wall and ceiling designs are quite unique, creating a blend of fashion and industrial styles. The seating and tables are arranged irregularly, offering ample privacy—ideal for business dinners. 🍜 Dishes: Mayura Station Signature New Yorker (600g, M9+): 240 AUD for 600g. The waiter recommended this as the restaurant’s signature. The beef is grain-fed for 450 days, with extremely even marbling, delicate texture, and rich mouthfeel. However, personally, due to the high fat content, it felt a bit greasy towards the end. If you love fatty textures, this is a good choice. But I guess I’m just not refined enough for it—I was so I wanted to get my stomach pumped right there... Baked Scallop: 29 AUD This was hands down my favorite dish of the whole experience. The scallops are fresh and plump, simply baked to retain their natural sweetness. The garlic shavings and crispy onions on top perfectly elevate the texture layers. The sauce is seasoned just right, not overpowering, allowing the scallops' freshness to shine through. Portuguese Chicken: 55 AUD Saw a guy in a suit order this, so I couldn’t resist trying it. The chicken is skewered on a long metal rod, vertically suspended over the plate—quite creative. The marinated chicken has a slightly charred exterior while staying juicy and tender inside. The accompanying lemon perfectly cuts through the richness. The fries on the plate are golden and crispy, complementing the dish’s flavors wonderfully. Overall rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #CanberraFood #Australia #InternationalStudents #AustralianBeef
