First Stop: Benghazi, Libya 🇱🇾
"One of the hardest places to reach, but worth the journey." 📜 A City Shaped by War & Revolution In 2011, Benghazi became the heart of the uprising against Gaddafi. The opposition formed the "National Transitional Council" here, leading to his downfall. 2014–2017: Libya plunged into a second civil war. Benghazi turned into an "urban battlefield" 🏙️⚔️, with different militias controlling different districts. By 2017, General Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA) took full control, stabilizing the east. 🕵️♂️ Fig. 2: Haua Fteah Cave (300 km east of Benghazi) "One of Africa’s most important prehistoric sites!" 🦴🔍 🗿 A 200,000-Year Timeline of Human History Middle Paleolithic (~200,000 years ago): Evidence of early Homo sapiens with stone tools. "Dabban" Culture (~40,000–15,000 years ago): Blades & chisels, marking the Upper Paleolithic era. Mesolithic (~14,000–10,000 years ago): Tiny stone tools & animal bones—hunter-gatherer life. Neolithic (~10,000–4,700 years ago): Pottery, domesticated animal bones, ostrich eggshell jewelry—the dawn of farming! 🌾 Roman Era (~1st century BC–5th century AD): Pottery & livestock traces—proving continuous human activity. 💡 Why It Matters?
