🌲 First-Time Camping Experience at Malibu Creek ✨

Spent Labor Day weekend setting up camp at Malibu Creek State Park 🏕️ For my first camping trip, I chose a spot that’s close to the city but still feels wild—with flush toilets and hot showers for a comfortable start! We packed a car full of food and drinks 🍉🥪, and cooking and sleeping outdoors was so much fun… though honestly, it was HOT! 🔥 Our site was #33, right next to a fence near a house. Other sites might offer better surroundings—check the park map online in advance to pick your ideal spot! Just under an hour’s drive from Los Angeles, and you’re instantly embraced by nature 🍃 ⛰️ Daytime Hiking It gets really warm during the day—best to start early! We visited Rock Pool and Malibu Lake 💧; the water was green (algae?), so I didn’t dare swim. Along the trails, we spotted deer 🦌, lots of squirrels and rabbits 🐿️, a few mice 🐭, and even a warning about rattlesnakes 🐍—so stay on the trail and avoid tall grass! 🌌 Nights at the Campground After sunset, the sky filled with stars 🌟—so clear and beautiful! Temperatures dropped, making a cool shower quite refreshing 🚿 📌 Helpful Tips: ✔️ The campground has clean restrooms, shower facilities, and dishwashing stations. ✔️ Bring a sleeping bag—it gets chilly at night! ✔️ Book your site online early—weekends fill up fast! And just like that… I’m officially hooked on camping! Already booked my next trips to Mammoth Lakes and Kings Canyon—can’t wait! 🎒🗻 #WeekendInLA #ExploreLA #Malibu #LACamping #Hiking #NatureEscape #FirstTimeCamper #OutdoorLife #SoCalAdventures #StarGazing #FamilyCamping #TravelDiary #GetOutside #CampVibes #CaliforniaParks
