First Time Trying French Food in LA — I Was Blown Away! 🌟
Been in LA for two years and have tried Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai… but never French — until now! I’d only had French once in Boston, but this place completely won me over, and it’s hidden right in DTLA! We ordered the tasting menu because we wanted to try everything. 🎃🦆 48-Hour Duck Leg Confit Crispy outside, tender inside, served with pumpkin purée and roasted pumpkin. The topping looked like caviar but was sweet and not fishy — loved it! 🫕🧅 Onion and Shallot Soup The one in Boston was sour, but this one was sweet with a thick cheese layer, filled with onions and soft bread — so delicious! 💚🐌 Traditional Burgundy Snails Last time in Boston, I ate 6 alone (friend couldn’t handle them) and got turned off. Was going to skip, but they looked too tempting — tried one and the green sauce was perfectly balanced! 🍷🥩 48-Hour Beef Bourguignon A light red wine flavor, slightly tangy — served with bread for dipping. Good but not mind-blowing. 😈🥚 Oeufs Mimosa (Deviled Egg) — ordered separately Topped with truffle mayonnaise — rich and flavorful. 🧡🍮 Vanilla Crème Brûlée Crispy caramel shell over smooth, creamy vanilla custard — a classic French dessert done right. Sweetness was perfect, though the cream got a bit heavy after a while. 🍫🍦 Profiteroles 72% dark chocolate (a bit too bitter for my taste) with vanilla ice cream-filled puff pastry. The ambiance was super romantic — candlelit dinner vibes fully loaded ✨ Price: $50–100 per person — perfect for a date or special occasion! 🏠 L'APPART by AIR FOOD 📅 Wed–Sun: 4–6 PM happy hour | Closed Mon–Tue 🎷 Jazz Night every Wednesday 8–10 PM 📍 541 S Spring St Unit 112/113, Los Angeles, CA 90013 #HiddenGem #LifeInNorthAmerica #DateNightSpot #LosAngeles #LAEats #FrenchCuisine
