Snagged a reservation at The Grill (Skycity Auckland) two weeks ahead just for their renowned Beef Wellington 🥩 — it’s such a popular date night spot that you can’t afford to wait! The $190 set includes two side dishes; I went with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes, which were fresh and didn’t overpower the main. Major props to the beef: cooked to perfect doneness with a flaky, buttery crust that cracks open to reveal pink, juicy meat — tender enough to melt in your mouth, and the seasoning is spot-on 👏! Overall, it’s solid and delicious, just not the “blow-your-mind” kind of amazing — more like reliably good 😌. Verdict: I’d jump at the chance if a friend treats me, but I probably won’t go out of my way to book it myself 😂.
