Food Diary LA – What to Eat 8.0 🍽️

Somehow already at edition 8.0, friends β€” here’s another casual food recap (essay style, sort of πŸ˜‚). Tuk Tuk Thai – Thai spot near UCLA in Sawtelle. That pork chili rice is seriously fragrant and delicious. Everything else is decent, but that chili minced pork rice really stands out! Broad Street Oyster Company – Malibu Went to Malibu when friends were visiting and tried their β€œworld-famous” lobster roll (or so they claim). Honestly, lobster rolls are hard to mess up β€” so yeah, it was good. Ramen Tatsunoya – In Pasadena Old Town. Went for a weekend stroll with friends and got hungry. Ramen is usually a safe choice. I got the spicy version, friends got non-spicy β€” both okay. The pork slices were thick and a bit fatty, so order accordingly. The area is nice to walk around with plenty of boba, dessert spots, and shops β€” typical mall vibes. (Three Meows) – Now in Koreatown! I predicted this β€” once tagged them on Instagram asking if they’d open in Ktown, and here they are!πŸ’•πŸ˜ Now I can enjoy hotpot at home and grab boba nearby β€” happiness. Yasik Nara – Ordered takeout this time. Didn’t get the spicy chicken feet, but tried the pork trotters β€” generous portion, enough for three. Also got a cream pasta β€” really tasty! The octopus was incredibly tender β€” seriously, seriously good. Lobster pasta barely had any lobster though. The steak was just okay β€” I’m not much of a steak connoisseur anyway (I’d rather have beef ribs with Liuba seasoning πŸ˜…). Yuchun – Back for cold noodles? Nah, back for the free beef broth β€” you know what I mean. Somi Somi – Hadn’t had it in a while, so gave it another go. Damo – CafΓ© in Ktown that was trending a while back. Tried their hojicha latte β€” honestly, it’s hard to mess up tea lattes, always good no matter where you get it.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜˜ Fleming’s – A steakhouse on a street corner in DTLA. Got it to-go β€” dine-in seemed pricey. Tasty enough β€” classic American fare.😍😍😊 Na Go Ya (I think that’s the name) – Ginseng chicken soup spot. First time trying it β€” stuffed with sticky rice and sweet potato. The chicken was fall-apart tender, bones practically soft, so be careful not to swallow them by accident. #LAFood #LosAngeles #Ktown #LACuisine #FoodieChronicles 🍜
