Food Hunting in Eugene, Oregon 🥢
Spent the Labor Day long weekend exploring Oregon’s coast, and stopped to stay in Eugene for two nights—here’s a roundup of the spots I tried! Jade Dumplings House – This place was all over Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) for a reason! They make fresh dumplings and steamed buns right there, plus serve Sichuan and Northeast Chinese dishes. Overall, the food was above average. The standout? Their Sizzling Pork Kidney—the kidney was tender, crispy, and super clean (no weird aftertaste at all)! The seasoning was a fun surprise though: it had that savory Northern Chinese sauce vibe mixed with a hint of vinegar—unique and tasty 😋 Day & Nights (Bai Ye Milk Tea) – The owner here was so friendly and chatty! Their Boba Milk Tea was really good—creamy, with chewy boba that had just the right sweetness. Total recommend if you’re craving a refreshing drink after walking around 🧋 Chopstix – This Chinese spot was a recommendation from the Day & Nights owner, and it did NOT disappoint! Their Classic Sweet-and-Sour Pork (Guobaorou) was hands down the best I’ve had in the US—super crispy on the outside, with a perfectly balanced tangy-sweet garlic sauce that coated every piece. Their Spicy Hot Pot was also a win: big portion, great value, and packed with flavor. This place is totally worth a visit for solid, affordable Chinese food 👍 The Ice Cream Shop Visited by Obama – The line here was pretty long (thanks to its famous former guest!), but honestly? The ice cream was just okay. It lacked that rich, creamy milkiness I love—nothing too memorable compared to the other spots 🍦 #Oregon #Eugene #EugeneEats #OregonFood #FoodieDiary #ChineseFoodInEugene
