📍 Oh! Banzai 18212 S. Western Ave, Gardena, CA 90248 Fresh review—I just ate here today! Dine LA ends on the 8th, but I had plans the next two days, so I rushed over today to try it out! 💰 Lunch menu: 45 | Dinner menu: 65 I made a reservation out of habit, but I went at 5 PM and it wasn’t crowded at all—walk-ins are totally fine. They accept solo reservations, which is perfect for a lone diner like me! 🐷 The $65 dinner includes 4 courses. Today’s starter was a seaweed salad—pretty standard, nothing special. 🥗 1st Course: Uni Shooter It had mountain yam paste, which made it sticky, plus sweet fresh uni and salty ikura. The texture was… hard to describe. Personally, I wasn’t a big fan. 🙈 2nd Course: Five Hand Rolls 🍙 • Crab + Spicy Mayo: Tangy and spicy—very fragrant! But the crab felt a bit tough, maybe overcooked or frozen too long. Flavor was decent though. • Eel + Egg: Unagi with tamagoyaki—a perfect match! Teriyaki sauce + sweet egg + tender eel = pure enjoyment. • Salmon + Onion Crunchy Chili Oil: Salmon melted in my mouth—so fresh! The chili oil wasn’t spicy but very aromatic. Loved it! • Scallop + Ikura: Scallop was fresh, but I prefer cooked scallops. Ikura was salty as usual—just okay for me. • Toro-Taku: Toro was soft and rich, balanced with pickled radish—refreshing and harmonious. Really liked this one! 3rd Course: Chashu Soba Salad 🍜 Their garlic chili oil was amazing—tasted like a less spicy, more garlicky version of Lao Gan Ma! So good! Dessert: Vanilla Ice Cream with Warabimochi, Kinako, and Brown Sugar Syrup 🍡 First time trying warabimochi—looked it up and learned it’s made from fern starch. Texture was unique—like jelly but less bouncy. Vanilla ice cream + kinako was absolutely divine! I’m obsessed! ❤️ Overall, the dinner portion was pretty large—even my small stomach was stuffed (still full now!). Every course was carb-heavy. If I go again, I might try the lunch menu.
