For Kids Who Love Animals: Greensboro Science Center
If you have a little one obsessed with animals, Greensboro Science Center is a total must-visit! Greensboro Science Center shares some similarities with Durhamās Life Science Museumāboth have tree houses (Durhamās is a bit bigger) and small animalsābut Greensboro has a lot more small creatures. For our kid, whoās absolutely crazy about animals, this was pure joy š¾. š The outdoor area is packed with small animals. Itās definitely fewer than a full zoo, and there are no large animals like elephants or giraffes, but honestly? Thatās more than enough for us! (Sometimes zoos have too many exhibits, and walking around gets exhausting.) But a heads-up if you go in summer: you might run into the same issue we didāmany animals stay indoors to cool down. We missed seeing the tiger our kid had been looking forward to so much š. š§āāļø Thereās an animal hospital on-site, and our kid was fascinated by it! They knelt by the window for ages, watching the vet āauntieā do an ultrasound and draw blood for a small animal (we had no clue what it was, haha) š. It was like a little real-life animal care lesson! š¬ The aquarium is also impressiveāyou can see sharks, penguins, and all sorts of aquatic life. Watching the penguins waddle around or the sharks glide through the water had our kid glued to the glass š„°. š The best part? The whole park is designed for great animal interaction! For example, you can pet sheep (but check the volunteer schedule firstāthey only open petting time at specific hours), touch small fish, and some animals can be viewed through embedded round glass windows. And if your kid gets tired of looking at animals, thereās a tiny indoor playground tooākids can run around while adults relax in the air conditioning. Total parent win! āļø ā A few downsides: We went on a Monday during summer, and it was still pretty crowdedāespecially around the tree house. Older kids were running around everywhere, so we only stayed up there for a minute before heading down. Thereās also an attraction called āWild Skyā that looked super fun⦠but itās paid. It was around $46 for about two hours. I wouldāve loved to try it if it were free! š Address: 4301 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC 27455 #Greensboro #LifeInNorthAmerica #KidFriendlyNC
