Fort Worth Stockyards — Rodeo Guide 🤠
Every time I visit I jot a few notes; here’s the full cheat-sheet for future cowboys & cowgirls. 📍 Fort Worth Stockyards Station A short, Old-West-style street lined with souvenir shops, boot & hat stores, restaurants, and a Hyatt House. There’s a coffee kiosk (no seating) and a tiny museum ($2). Exit through the back of the museum, cross the bridge, and you’ll get a bird’s-eye view of the daily cattle-herding arena. It’s HOT—plan for shade, sunscreen, and shorts. 🩳 🅿️ Parking Follow the traffic all the way to the end of the street. A huge open-air lot is divided into numbered sections. Scan the QR code and pay online; we paid just over $20 for the day. 🐮 Longhorn Cattle Drive Daily at 11:30 AM & 4:00 PM. Cowboys guide a herd of longhorns down the street. Arrive 15–20 min early and plant yourself along the curb near the Livestock Exchange Building for the best view. 🌟 Rodeo Night — don’t miss it! 📍 Stockyards Championship Rodeo Venue: Cowtown Coliseum (right on the same street). • Live band outside the gates. • Shows only Fri & Sat at 7:30 PM. • Book tickets a few weeks ahead. We sat Section C, Row 2 (see last two photos). Every section has decent sight-lines, but if you want to be close to the bucking chutes, aim for far-right seats near the VIP area. 🎥 House rules • No professional cameras—phone shots only. (They didn’t check bags, but don’t risk it.) • Outside food & drinks are banned; concessions inside. If you’re lucky you’ll land on the Jumbotron—we made it twice! 😆 Keep your phone ready for a quick selfie when the spotlight hits. #FortWorth #Stockyards #RodeoLife #DallasWeekend
