Belvedere is the Italian term for a scenic overlook. The Belvedere Fortress, located at the highest point of the Boboli Gardens, offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Florence and the surrounding areas, making it strategically significant.🪷🪷🪷 Originally constructed for defense against military attacks on Florence, the fortress was actively guarded by troops for a long period after its completion in the sixteenth century. It is said that members of the Medici family could ride from their residence, the Pitti Palace, through the Boboli Gardens directly to the fortress for refuge.😊😊😊 Galileo also conducted astronomical observations here.
