France | December Strasbourg Christmas Market

Strasbourg + Colmar Last Christmas, I visited the Christmas market in Strasbourg and also checked out the filming location for Howl's Moving Castle. Day 1: Arrival in Strasbourg 🛬 🧸 Teddy bear wall decorations at Le Tire-Bouchon. I recommend going at night; we went at noon and then again in the evening. It looks much better at night. 🎄 Christmas market at Place Kleber. The Christmas tree is lit up at 9 PM, and it stays lit. The lighting at nine is quite a ceremonial moment, and I'll attach a video later. ⛪️ Strasbourg Cathedral is right in the middle of the market, at the market's location. Day 2: Colmar, the filming location for Howl's Moving Castle. We took a train from Strasbourg and arrived at 13:00. Our main goal was to see the houses in Colmar, so we didn't go shopping. We mostly just wandered around. We stayed until the evening, had dinner, and then returned to Strasbourg. Beware, important note! 🚨 The Strasbourg airport closes at night. Our flight was at 5-6 AM. We thought we could go to the airport at midnight and wait. But the airport closed at midnight. We couldn't find a taxi either. It also started to rain and snow. So, we spent a full 5 hours in a overpass. We were frozen. 🥶 I never thought an airport could close. I'll remember this for next time. #ChristmasMarketVisit #DayTrip #TravelTips #Christmas #Strasbourg #France
