Frankfurt's Nearby Braunfels Castle 🏰⚜️

Schloss Braunfels, located in Braunfels, Hesse, is listed as one of the ten most beautiful castles in Germany. It belongs to the Solms family, with a history that can be traced back about 900 years, and the family's descendants still live in the castle to this day. After looking up information online, I learned that each generation of the family's heir would build a tower for themselves. Visiting this ancient castle on a gloomy day, the autumn colors should have been quite charming, but I found that all the nearby sycamores were sick, with every leaf having several black spots like melted rubber oil on them. 🏛️Entering the castle also gives a feeling of an eerie quietness and oppressive atmosphere. Perhaps the main reason was that we arrived too late and could only follow a German-speaking guide. Additionally, German tourist spots require vaccination passports and children's proof of no infection within 48 hours. The other party just took a glance at our vaccine QR codes, and the children did not have 48-hour proof, but they were also allowed in. This was almost the case in every small town afterward. Most did not ask us to show vaccination passports at all. I felt that the strictness of the Germans varied strongly with different cities and places. This is probably related to the government's strict policies. The place that checked the tightest was the busiest restaurant in Frankfurt. We had to take away our food because we were reluctant to pay 25 euros for testing for each child and have their noses swabbed. They helplessly said that the police had already checked on them many times. I silently hoped that people would treat their own restaurants as strictly as they would treat the temples of God. #Frankfurt #Braunfels #SchlossBraunfels #Castle #Towers #Watchtowers #FrankfurtSurroundings #AncientCastleTown #LateAutumn #Germany
