A One-Day Sea-View Itinerary in Rhode Island 🌊 📍 Pastiche Fine Desserts First stop: picking up Rhode Island’s signature fruit tarts! I didn’t make a reservation beforehand, but when I went around 11 AM on a weekday, there were still plenty of tart slices available—no need to worry about sold-out disappointment 😌. And let me tell you, these tarts were incredible! The fruits on top were super fresh—juicy strawberries, plump blueberries, and ripe raspberries that burst with sweetness in every bite 🍓. Under the fruit layer was a smooth vanilla custard, rich but not heavy, and the base was a crispy, buttery tart shell that crumbled perfectly with each forkful. Best of all? It wasn’t overly sweet at all—just the right balance of fruity, creamy, and crunchy. Total dessert win! 📍 Ocean Ave, Newport I absolutely fell in love with this spot! The seawater here was so crystal clear—you could almost see little fish darting around near the shore 🌊. We found a patch of soft grass by the water, sat down, and dug into our fruit tarts while the sea breeze blew gently over us. It was pure bliss—no rush, just good food and even better views. If you’re up for a little adventure, you can climb down the rocks to get closer to the ocean. A fun surprise? Many of the rocks here have a soft purple hue—they looked so pretty glinting in the sun, even though I couldn’t quite capture that beauty in photos (total photo regret! 📸). There’s also a parking lot right facing the sea—if it gets too sunny, you can just sit in your car, roll down the windows, and listen to the sound of waves while enjoying the view. Lazy, cozy, and perfect. 📍 Cliff Walk, Newport It’s only a 10-minute drive from Ocean Ave to the famous Cliff Walk—and you can even take a quick detour to wander around Newport’s cute downtown area on the way (tiny shops and colorful houses, totally worth a peek! 🛍️). Cliff Walk has a long coastal hiking trail that winds along the ocean. On a sunny day, it can get a bit bright, but the cool sea breeze keeps you comfortable the whole time. Walking there, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and elegant historic mansions on the other, felt like stepping into a postcard. Every turn brought a new view—crashing waves, seagulls gliding overhead, and sunlight dancing on the water 🐦. Spending a whole day looking at the sea really lifted my mood—my heart felt light and cheerful, like the clouds floating in the sky ✨.
