Furukawa Higashi Gyoen Teien 🌸

After passing through several owners, the garden became the Shiba residence of the Tokugawa family from Kishu during the late Edo period. 🌺🌿🍃 In the 4th year of the Meiji era, it was owned by the Arisugawa family, and in the 8th year, it was acquired by the Imperial Household Ministry, becoming known as Shiba Rikyu. 🏯🌳 🌺🌿🍃 The garden suffered severe damage during the Great Kanto Earthquake in the 12th year of the Taisho era, affecting both the buildings and trees. 🌪️🌿 In January of the following year, 🌺🌿🍃 the garden was granted to the city of Tokyo as a wedding gift for the Crown Prince (later Emperor Showa) and underwent restoration and improvements.
