Genoa | Italy Never Fails to Amaze Me 🫔

Genoa was my 5th cruise stop, and honestly—I didn’t expect much. After visiting several Mediterranean ports, I assumed it’d be similar. But wow, was I wrong! This underrated city is unbelievably stunning at every turn. How does Italy make every place so magical? No wonder it’s the birthplace of the Renaissance! 🚶 No-Backtracking 1-Day Itinerary 1ļøāƒ£ Old Port of Genoa Once the busiest Mediterranean port, now a vibrant cultural hub. 2ļøāƒ£ Genoa Aquarium Europe’s 2nd largest—book early for discounts! 3ļøāƒ£ San Lorenzo Cathedral Recognizable by its colorful marble faƧade. 4ļøāƒ£ Porta Soprana + Columbus’ House Historic gate & explorer’s home, flanked by Italian & St. George flags. 5ļøāƒ£ Piazza De Ferrari Sat here for ages, people-watching by the 1956 fountain. Surrounded by landmarks: Stock Exchange, Liguria Government Building, Carlo Felice Theatre, and more. 6ļøāƒ£ Palazzo Rosso (Red Palace) Lavish noble mansion (closed Sundays). 7ļøāƒ£ Palazzo Bianco (White Palace) Opposite the Red Palace, now an art museum (13th-18th century European works). 8ļøāƒ£ Basilica della Santissima Annunziata A gold-covered Catholic church—insanely opulent! 9ļøāƒ£ Royal Palace Museum €6 entry (closed Sundays). šŸ”Ÿ Belvedere Castelletto Short hike (or elevator) for panoramic harbor views. Perfect for sunbathing! šŸ½ļø Where to Eat 🄢 Ristorante Cinese Da Chan Near Piazza De Ferrari: dumplings + beef chow fun for €8.50. Solid taste for overseas Chinese food! Final Thoughts Genoa is criminally underrated. Its layered architecture blends historic port charm with modern energy. Italy really doesn’t miss—I’m absolutely coming back! šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ #ItalyTravel #Genoa #HiddenGems #CruiseLife #MediterraneanMagic ✨
