Georgia | Savannah, a Hidden Gem in the State 🌆

Georgia | Savannah, a Hidden Gem in the State 🌆 I really love the atmosphere in Savannah~ We visited at the end of December, and the temperature was just right—super comfortable 😌. 1️⃣ Davenport House Museum A highly iconic building in Savannah, hard to miss 🏛️. It’s one of the city’s earliest red-brick townhouses, later converted into a museum. 💡 Tickets must be booked in advance on the official website 💡 Self-guided tours are only available on Saturdays, priced at $10–$15 💡 Guided tours are available on other days, priced at $10–$15 🕐 Opening hours: Monday – Friday: 11:00–16:30 Saturday: 10:00–16:30 Sunday: closed 2️⃣ Forsyth Park Also one of Savannah’s famous landmarks, with a 19th-century French-style fountain at its center—perfect for photos 📸. 💡 Open 24 hours a day, free of charge 💡 Visit on a sunny day for stunning shots of the lawn and fountain together 🌞 3️⃣ Savannah Historic District The red-brick houses mentioned in 1️⃣ are here~ Tree-lined streets shaded by oak trees, ideal for leisurely walks 🚶♀️. It’s one of the oldest and best-preserved historic districts in the U.S., where you can see 19th-century Southern colonial architecture 🏡. 💡 Recommended to visit during the day for better lighting and safety 💡 Open 24 hours a day, free of charge 4️⃣ Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Located next to the historic district, it’s Savannah’s most spectacular Gothic-style church, known as the “Notre Dame of the South” ⛪. 💡 Opening hours: Monday–Saturday: 9:00–11:45 & 12:45–17:00 Visitor access is restricted during Sunday services. Check the schedule in advance if you want to go inside 5️⃣ Colonial Park Cemetery One of Savannah’s notable landmarks, with many tombstones damaged by historical relocations or wars (such as the defacement by Union troops during the Civil War) 🪦. 💡 Opening hours: 8:00–17:00 💡 Free of charge 💡 Just next to the cathedral—stop by after visiting the church 6️⃣ Congregation Mickve Israel One of the oldest synagogues in the U.S. ✡️. The current building, constructed in 1878, features classic Gothic Revival architecture. Unfortunately), it was closed when we visited, so we didn’t get to go inside—what a shame 😟. 7️⃣ Chippewa Square One of Savannah’s 22 squares, planned and built in 1815 to commemorate the Battle of Chippawa during the War of 1812 🎖️. The north side of the square was also a filming location for Forrest Gump. Though the bench from the movie is gone, the vibe is still spot-on~ 8️⃣ River Street A charming area perfect for strolling along cobblestone streets 🦶. Lined with 19th-century warehouses converted into shops, restaurants, and bars, with views of the harbor ⚓. 💡 Lots of small stores here, great for souvenir shopping 🛍️ 💡 Be sure to try River Street Sweets’ signature taffy and nut brittle 🍬—sweet but not cloying, absolutely delicious! #Savannah#SavannahTravel#Georgia
