Beautiful!!! What a beautiful park and fountain! Came here several times but my mist recent stop was spring break of 2019.

Here is my take…

🌳 Travel Review: Forsyth Park – Savannah, GA ✨ If Savannah is the soul of the South, Forsyth Park is its heart—lush, iconic, and absolutely brimming with charm.

This 30-acre green space is the kind of place that feels like it belongs in a storybook. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by that famous white fountain (yes, the one you’ve seen in every photo)—graceful and surrounded by moss-draped oaks and blooming gardens. It’s picture-perfect, but even better in person.

🧺 What I Loved: • The oak-lined paths are ideal for a slow stroll, a morning jog, or just soaking in the beauty of Spanish moss overhead. • There’s a mix of locals and travelers, which gives it a laid-back, lived-in vibe—dog walkers, musicians, families, and artists all sharing the same peaceful space. • The Saturday farmers’ market is a must if you’re visiting on a weekend—fresh produce, local honey, baked goods, and Savannah-made treasures. • Plenty of spots to sit with a coffee or picnic and just exist.

🎭 Bonus: There’s often live music, open-air yoga, and pop-up art—all adding to the park’s easygoing, cultural energy. And the historic homes that border the park? Architectural eye candy!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Forsyth Park is more than a park—it’s a slice of Southern life wrapped in beauty and calm. Whether you’re visiting Savannah for the first time or the fiftieth, this place never stops being magical.

We live in Richmond Hill, Richmond Hill, and a few times a month, we will just get in the car with the dog and come over here for a walk. The size of the park makes it a perfect distance walk. I love that the area is dog, friendly. My kids love to play on the playground equipment near the middle of the park, and we will usually stop there for a bit. They also like looking at the fountain and getting their picture taken next to it. Sometimes there are some neat vendor tables where people are selling things like art down near the fountain, and those are fun to look through. The farmers market also is fun to go to, however, with the increased number of people, it can incredibly difficult to find a place to park. Savanna is not known for its copious parking . We usually choose times of a day to go when there aren’t going to be as many people so we can park in the little parking lot on the end or close by. The park seems generally very safe, and there are security cameras all over the place if you look.

One thing the note, it was pretty obvious after hurricane Helene came through that the people maintaining the park are very active and engaged at the park. We walked through the park the day after, and the storm had taken down one of the gigantic oaks in the park. The crew had already come through and cut that tree up and removed it for the most part. There were some piles of debris, and a few places were taped off, but the crew did an amazing job of getting that park cleaned up...
