Germany's Hidden Fairy-Tale Castle - Burg Eltz

I took a three-hour train ride early in the morning to visit a medieval castle that has never been destroyed - Burg Eltz. If you have already visited Neuschwanstein Castle (the most famous castle in Germany), then I recommend you to check out this lesser-known German castle that most people won't visit. Suitable for self-driving tours/bus free travel/chartered tours/private customized tours. Compared to the tragic and romantic love story that sets the backdrop for Neuschwanstein Castle, coupled with the Disney prototype's enhancement, it has become a must-visit attraction for group tours in Germany, and it's always crowded. Basically, it's full of tourists taking photos from various angles, and only a few rooms inside the castle are open to the public, with no photography allowed. There are staff members in each room to maintain order, and the most impressive thing is the romantic German murals that cover the walls. In contrast, Burg Eltz, due to its unique geographical location, has been well-preserved to this day and is more suitable for visitors who prefer quiet, less crowded, and off-the-beaten-path experiences. It is said to be over 800 years old, has never changed ownership, and has been inherited and managed by the Eltz family to this day. Its style is not as flamboyant as Neuschwanstein Castle; it's more rustic with a touch of Gothic style. Not many rooms are open to the public, and inside, there are various exquisite treasures and artifacts, as well as weapons, tools, armor, and kitchen utensils, which provide a wealth of material for historical and archaeological research, giving it a very lifelike feel. Photography is allowed inside the castle, but only for personal use, which I assume means it's not for commercial purposes. Admission fee: 14 euros #BurgEltz #GermanCastle #HiddenCastle #CastleGuide
