Gordon Ramsay Steak - Hell's Kitchen Comes to Town!
When the legendary Hell's Kitchen chef brings his Michelin-starred expertise to Vancouver, you know it's going to be an experience! We visited Gordon Ramsay Steak for a special anniversary dinner to see if it lives up to the hype. 🍽️ The Food Breakdown 🍄 Wild Mushroom Risotto (with Scallop) The STAR of the night! The scallop was perfectly seared, but the real showstopper was the crispy fried mushrooms mixed into the creamy risotto. Absolute perfection—this dish alone is worth the visit! 🐟 Hamachi Crudo Fresh, buttery hamachi with tangy cucumber relish—light, bright, and refreshing. A great palate cleanser before the main event. 🥩 Roasted Beef Wellington ($188!) The most controversial dish of the night. The beef was rich and juicy, but too salty and undercooked in the center (had to chew... a lot). The mushroom duxelles added an earthy flavor, but it overpowered the beef. Pro tip: Leftovers? Slice thin and pan-fry the next day—it magically transforms into something 10x better! 🥔 Mashed Potatoes (Side) Silky smooth, with just the right amount of butter. The perfect balance to the salty Wellington. 🥕 Roasted Rainbow Carrots (Side) Charred and tender, with a sweet-spicy glaze that made them irresistible. 🍮 Sticky Toffee Pudding Worth every calorie! Warm, gooey cake drowned in rich toffee sauce, topped with cold vanilla ice cream. The hot-cold contrast was heavenly. (Yes, it’s sweet—but in the best way possible.) 💭 Final Thoughts A solid dining experience, but the Wellington didn’t quite justify its price tag. Next time, we might skip it and focus on the risotto, crudo, and that incredible dessert! What’s your take? Would you splurge on the Wellington, or are you here for the other dishes?
