Great Places Around Dallas | Wild Wild Zoo

📣Address: Fossil Rim Wildlife Center 🍾2299 Co Rd 2008, Glen Rose, TX 76043 This is truly a great place to spend a weekend with kids, as the zoo is full of families. It's about a 2-hour drive from downtown Dallas, passing through Fort Worth along the way. The last entry is at 4:30 p.m., and we arrived at 3:30 p.m., which was really hot and crowded. The giraffes, the main attraction, had a long line. Suggestions: 🎃Choose a sunny day and arrive early. You can purchase a self-driving ticket on the official website. First, you'll encounter sheep and deer. Since it was hot in the afternoon, most of the animals were quite lethargic. When taking photos, because we were driving an SUV, the deer couldn't reach high enough, making it difficult to capture feeding moments. The car in front of us was a sedan, and the fawns easily stretched their heads into the windows. Along the way, you'll also see zebras🦓. After about an hour of driving, you'll reach a midway rest stop where you can interact with running lambs, which are incredibly cute. 🎃After leaving the rest stop, you'll finally see the giraffes, the main stars. They are gentle and adorable, and they make for great photos. Staff members will be nearby to ensure safety. Lastly, you'll encounter rhinos and ostriches. Friendly tip: When watching ostriches, make sure to keep your windows closed, or you might get pecked. They won't eat the food on the ground; they'll only peck it from your hand. Ostrich pecks can be really painful. After we left, the staff said that all the animals had been vaccinated and were clean. Since we weren't pecked through the skin, they disinfected the area, registered us, and let us go. #DallasSurroundings #Dallas #LifeInUSA #DallasTravel #CloseEncountersWithAnimals
