Great Solo Dining Spots in Boston
I first went to Newbury Street Coffee Roasters ☕️, which is only open on weekends and closes at 12:00 PM. I ordered a Honey Cold Foam Matcha (Flying Bee) 🍵. A little disappointed—it was a bit pricey for the size, and the matcha flavor wasn’t very strong 😔. You could tell it was good quality matcha, but the milk ratio seemed high. The honey cold foam was deliciously sweet though, and I finished it way too quickly! For lunch, I finally tried Mahaniyom 🍛, a Bib Gourmand-recommended Thai spot I’ve been wanting to visit. They open at 12:00, and by the time I arrived at 12:05, about three tables were already taken 🕛. By 12:30, it was almost full! I ordered the Classic Pad Thai and Salt & Pepper Pork Cheek 🥢. For one person, the Pad Thai alone would have been filling. The pork cheek took about 20 minutes (probably freshly grilled 🔥), but it was worth it—rich garlic flavor with a hint of what tasted like wine, tender and juicy, and a generous portion 😋. Next time, I’d like to try their braised beef 🥘! While walking around, I also spotted IRU 🐔, a Korean samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) place I’ve had bookmarked—it’s right nearby! Will share about it next time if I visit 👀. 📍 Mahaniyom 📍 Newbury Street Coffee Roasters #BostonLife #GlobalFoodSquad #BostonFood #StudentFoodExploration #SatisfyTheChinesePalate #BostonFoodDiscovery #SoloDining #BostonFoodieDiary
