Greenville | Celebrating Qixi Festival with Flowers

I brought the flowers I received for Qixi Festival to this restaurant for a lovely dinner—and here’s how it went! 📍 Trattoria Giorgio Address: 121 S Main St, Greenville, SC 29601 Average Cost: ~$75 per person I’d wanted to try this spot so many times before, but either I couldn’t get a last-minute reservation or it was closed on my free days. This time, I called 20 days in advance to book a table—and finally got to eat here… though it didn’t live up to my high expectations. 📞 A Small Mishap at Check-In The server couldn’t find my reservation and even asked if I’d booked the wrong restaurant. I only got seated after showing them my call log—kind of a rocky start! 🍽 Food Reviews (Hits & Misses) Let’s break down each dish, from the best to the most disappointing: Complimentary Bread ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil—this was amazing. The combination of the crusty bread, tangy vinegar, and smooth oil was perfect. Prosciutto Platter ⭐⭐⭐⭐½It came with 3 types of prosciutto, about 6 slices each—and all of them tasted great. At only $18, it’s such a good deal! It would’ve been even better if it came with cheese or dried fruit to cut through the saltiness. Clams with Tomato Sauce ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The star of the meal! All the flavor was in the tomato broth—it was so fresh and delicious, I wanted to lick the bowl. The clams were plump too, and we finished the whole plate in no time. Lobster Ravioli ⭐⭐⭐½The filling was frozen shredded lobster, which had a slight fishy taste. It got greasy after a few bites, and both the filling and sauce were too salty. Ribeye ⭐⭐⭐⭐It was a solid steak, but nothing special—my partner could make something similar at home. It was also over-salted. Curry Shrimp ⭐⭐⭐½I ordered this by mistake (I meant to get shrimp pasta!). The shrimp were big and fresh, but the curry sauce was plain and too salty. Tiramisu ⭐⭐⭐I never thought an Italian restaurant’s tiramisu could be underwhelming! It had no coffee flavor at all—the cake was dense, and the cream was over-whipped. It just wasn’t for me. 📝 Final Thoughts I think my high expectations made me a little disappointed. The service was just “okay”—not what you’d expect from a nicer restaurant. But the ingredients were fresh, and the classic Italian dishes were safe (no major fails). The only big issue? Most dishes were way too salty—I drank so much water, I felt full from that alone. It was a nice Qixi dinner—nothing mind-blowing, but not a letdown either. At the end of the day, the person you’re eating with matters more than the meal itself. 💛 #QixiFestival #HappyQixi #QixiDinner #DateNightRestaurants #100RestaurantsChallenge #CaptureTheMoment #ThisTemplateWorks #Greenville #GreenvilleEats #GreenvilleItalianRestaurants #ItalianRestaurant #RestaurantRecommendations #FoodDiary #FoodReview #FoodTours #ShoutOutLocalEats #ValentinesDay #ValentinesDayDateSpots #TreasureRestaurantShares #TrattoriaGiorgio
