๐Ÿ› Griddle & Rice โ€“ New Indonesian Brunch Spot in South Philly ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ

A newly opened Indonesian brunch cafe โ€” just over a month old โ€” tucked away in South Philly along East Passyunk Ave. Walking there, I realized I rarely explore southwest Phillyโ€ฆ and indeed, there wasnโ€™t much to see around ๐Ÿ˜…. But this little corner spot is warm, cozy, and cute, with a small kitchen where five staff were bustling โ€” still feels like a neighborhood gem. The place is compact but the menu is surprisingly varied (many breakfast items are morning-only). Closes at 7 PM โ€” we arrived at 6:30 PM and there was still a line! We werenโ€™t very hungry, so we just grabbed a few things: ๐Ÿ› Chicken cutlet rice โ€“ huge portion, comes with a customizable spice level ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ. The chili sauce was perfectly matched! ๐Ÿœ Beef meatball noodle soup โ€“ two giant fried wontons, tofu, and beef meatballs. One meatball had a whole quail egg inside โ€” such a nice surprise! ๐Ÿข Grilled lamb skewers โ€“ well-spiced and tasty. ๐Ÿง‹ Indonesian milk tea โ€“ slightly soy-milk flavored, reminiscent of โ€œsoy milk jade unicornโ€ โ€” sweet but not overly so. ๐Ÿ“ Matcha strawberry drink โ€“ also good, not too sweet. Everything was delicious! Drinks exceeded expectations โ€” I thought theyโ€™d be too sweet, but both were enjoyable (though still rich enough to keep me awake till 5 AM ๐Ÿ˜…). The flavors reminded me of SkyCafe near my place, but the ambiance here is nicer. I definitely want to come back early to try their breakfast egg burger ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿ” and their pastries! #Philly #PhillyEats #IndonesianFood #BrunchSpot #GriddleAndRice #SouthPhilly #FoodieFind ๐Ÿ“ธ
