🍗 Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken
We tried this viral spot highly recommended on Xiaohongshu! The staff was super friendly, and we loved the Fried Green Tomatoes. The chicken was good—spicy without needing extra sauce—though not mind-blowing. Beale Street & FedEx Forum It was raining, so we quickly explored Beale Street—a street full of bars and souvenir shops 🎁. Just around the corner is the FedEx Forum, home of the Memphis Grizzlies 🐻. Lots of people were heading in; we found out there was an R&B singer performing that night! 🎣 Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid We ended the night at the riverside glass pyramid. It’s an outdoor supply store with a twist—indoor ponds with fish and even alligators 🐊! You can take an elevator to the top for a panoramic night view of Memphis ($8 per person). There’s even a hotel inside! The store closes at 8:30 PM. Memphis felt smaller than expected, and areas outside the city center had a somewhat deserted vibe. Parking was easy everywhere we went 🅿️. Since we stuck to tourist spots, we felt safe throughout. All in all, Memphis is a nice small city perfect for a stop on a road trip! 🚗 #Memphis #TravelUSA #SoulMusic #CivilRights #BBQ #SouthernTravel #USATourism #RoadTrip
