Guyana 🇬🇾 | Georgetown & Kaieteur Falls Adventure​​

The last missing piece of my South America puzzle was totally worth the trip! ✈️ In 2022 I visited Suriname 🇸🇷 and French Guiana 🇬🇫, but skipped Guyana 🇬🇾 due to visa issues. This time, I flew direct from Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹 to Ogle Airport, then exited via CJIA Airport to Houston 🇺🇸. ⚠️ ​​PS:​​ CJIA Airport (like Paramaribo's) is painfully far from the city - a full hour's drive! 🚗💨 ​​Georgetown: The "Big Village" Experience 🏡​​ Let's be honest: • Paramaribo = quaint village 🏘️ • Georgetown = slightly bigger village...with urban sprawl 🌆 Highlights? Well... ​​Aerial views​​ of the city 🚁 ​​Sunset at Ogle Airport​​ 🌇 (honestly prettier than the town) The ​​City Hall​​ could be photogenic...if it wasn't under renovation 🚧 ​​Kaieteur Falls: The Real Star 🌊​​ While it can't compete with Iguazu or Angel Falls, this ​​world's largest single-drop waterfall​​ is still spectacular! ​​Need to know:​​ 📍 Hidden deep in Guyana's rainforest 🌴 ✈️ ​​Accessible only by plane​​ (thankfully just 1hr flight) 💰 ​​Tours:​​ Half-day (~$300) with ​​Touring Guyana​​ or ​​592 Tours​​ Full-day adds another waterfall (skip it! 🙅) ​​⚠️ Flight Warning:​​ The ​​Cessna 208​​ is: • Ancient 🦖 • Cramped 😣 • AC barely works 🔥 • Seatbelts dig into shoulders 😫 But hey - you might spot ​​cute wildlife​​ 🐒 at the falls! ​​❗️BEST KFC IN THE AMERICAS❗️​​ Yes, really.
