Hae-Nam Kalbi & Calamari in Seattle

📍 Hae-Nam Kalbi & Calamari Address: 15001 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133 A Korean restaurant I've been to countless times because it's close to home. It was once called the pinnacle of Korean cuisine in Seattle before Moodo opened. 💰 Average cost per person: $40–$50 🦀 Yangnyeom Gyejan (Spicy Marinated Raw Crab), $22 Each serving includes about three spicy marinated raw crabs. The crab meat is very fresh, and the spice level is mild and easy to enjoy. Eating it is a bit like savoring spicy "sucking jelly"—it retains the crab's freshness without any fishy taste. 🐑 Yeom So Tang (Black Goat Meat Soup), $22 My first time trying black goat meat soup, and it instantly overshadowed Korean bone broth or soybean paste stew. The lamb soup is served simmering in a small stone pot for 1–2 people—so nourishing on a cold day, and it leaves room to try other dishes. 🦑 Osam Jumulleok (Spicy Calamari & Pork Belly, Pork Shoulder), $27 A long-time favorite dish. The plate is large, but the portion is modest. It's seasoned with Korean sweet-spicy sauce—the squid is fresh and chewy, while the pork belly is tender and juicy. Other recommended dishes we didn’t order this time: 🐮 Gopchang Juhngol (Beef Intestine and Tripe Hot Pot with Udon Noodles), $50 The beef intestines and tripe are cleaned very well, perfect for sharing among 3–4 people. 🥚 Gaeran Mari (Korean Egg Roll), $16 The rolled omelette is soft and tender, and pairing it with ketchup adds an extra layer of flavor. #Seattle#Seattleguide#Seattlefood#foodguide#Seattleguide
