Halifax | Maritime Museum of the Atlantic ๐๏ธ๐
Visiting to learn about Halifax's history on Heritage Day couldn't be more fitting! ๐ ๐ The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is Canada's largest and oldest maritime museum. Its exhibition hall spans two floors: the first floor showcases the history of the Canadian Navy and Halifax itself. Among the exhibits, the 1917 Halifax Explosion (P6) stands out vividly in memory, as it had a profound impact on the city. ๐ฅ๐๏ธ The second floor mainly displays various ship models and artifacts from the steam era. The renowned Titanic exhibition area is also located here, highlighting Halifax's role as the closest port to the Titanic's sinking site. ๐ข๐ The museum is situated alongside the Harbour Walk promenade, offering breathtaking sea views from every window. ๐๐ There was supposed to be a ship (CSS ACADIA) that visitors could board, but it happened to be away today. ๐ขโ After the visit, taking a stroll along the Harbour Walk to enjoy the sea view again is the ultimate indulgence, leaving you super satisfied! ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐๐ #Halifax #Hafa #HafaTravel ๐๐๏ธ๐ธ
