Hamburger Bahnhof | A Contender for My "Exhibition of the Year" 🏆
In March 2025, I encountered what might be my top exhibition of the year—thanks to the museum's spacious layout and brilliant curation. The H2 hall juxtaposes Andrea Pichl's work with Joseph Beuys' permanent collection, creating a thought-provoking dialogue. 💡 Joseph Beuys argued that social transformation requires rethinking capitalism and economics. In the 1970s, he launched "Wirtschaftswerte" (Economic Values)—unlike Marx, Beuys equated capital with human creativity. 🔄 Andrea Pichl responds by using everyday objects and assembly-line aesthetics to explore post-1989 East/West German transitions. Her "Wertewirtschaft" (Value Economy) inverts Beuys' ideas, critiquing his oversight of the GDR’s politically shaped economic system. 🔍 Artists: Andrea Pichl Joseph Beuys 🎨 Where Beuys meets Pichl—capitalism, creativity & critique collide. ✨ #BerlinArt #HamburgerBahnhof #ExhibitionReview
