Hamdi | Would Come Back Just for This "Boat-Shaped Pie" š¢
This restaurant has clear strengths and flaws. Almost every dish shows brilliance, yet each struggles with balance in seasoning⦠but the Pide (Turkish "boat" pizza)š on the cover is truly exceptional! š« Pide: Thin, crispy crust with a strong charcoal aroma, moist and juicy filling, rich and complex Turkish spices, paired with sweet corn and tangy picklesāperfect harmony! ā But other dishes: š The Kebab: High-quality lamb with a milky aftertaste, rice fragrant and soft⦠but the pickles are overwhelmingly sour. š£ Ćupra: Sea bream cooked perfectly, red wine sauce sweet, mashed potatoes silkyāruined by a sharp, "cheap vinegar-like" topping, nothing like natural citrus acidity. š Kanat (Charcoal Grilled Wings): Juicy, smoky, perfectly charred⦠but noticeably oversalted. š„ Pancar Salatası (Beet Salad): I personally loved it! A mix of grill spices (cumin, coriander seeds), dessert-like notes (yogurt, grapefruit), and fresh veggiesāthough my roommate found the flavors too chaotic. š Verdict: Strengths are outstandingāfire control, ingredients, and spice complexity shine. Weaknesses are just as clearāseasoning imbalance, often too sour/salty (Does the chef really not find the pickles too acidic?š¤£). But in Seattle, where many restaurants lack any standout element, Hamdi at least leaves an impression. For that amazing Pide alone, plus the untried signature T-bone steak, I might give it another chance next year! #SeattleEats #SeattleRestaurants #Hamdi #TurkishCuisine #FoodReview #FoodieLife #CharcoalGrill #LoveHateRelationship
