Have LA Bars Evolved to This Level Already? 🍸✨
Death & Co Los Angeles 📍 818 E 3rd St The Death & Co wave has finally reached Los Angeles! This iconic bar chain started in New York, expanded through D.C. and Denver, and has now landed in LA. I won’t dive too deep into its history—instead, here’s a quick review of the drinks I tried: 🍹 Kanzen 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Whenever I’m unsure what to order, I go for an Old Fashioned🥃 or one of its creative twists. This one uses Japanese whisky as the base—no surprise there—but the addition of Banhez adds a subtle smoky touch. Absinthe balances the whisky’s spiciness and brings out a delicate herbal aroma🌿. A solid pick for whisky lovers! 🍹 Green Tengu 🌟🌟🌟 Tequila, intensely anise-flavored Nordic Aquavit (the “water of life”), and yuzu kosho—this drink brings together flavors from all over the map. It’s quite a challenge for those not used to strong spirits. I get that it’s meant to be a unique take on a Margarita, but each flavor competes a bit too much, losing some of the classic Margarita charm. 🍹 Emerald Grove 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Two words: So good! 🍵 A light, refreshing cocktail with green tea notes. Coconut cream, pineapple🍍, lemon🍋, and matcha—how could that combo not taste amazing? Perfect for those who love a slightly sweet cocktail but don’t want it overly sugary 🥲. 🍹 Serenity Now 🌟🌟🌟 A creative spin on the winter classic Hot Toddy. While traditional Hot Toddies mellow out the alcohol through heating, this version amps it up with two types of whisky🥃: Japanese whisky and single malt. The oolong tea infusion softens the strength a bit, but be mentally prepared before sipping! 💬 What’s the most creative cocktail you’ve ever tried? Share below! 🥂 💬 Love exploring bars?
