Helsinki - Saying goodbye to you in the forest š²
Dedicated a whole day to the forest park. Finland has so many forest parks, and there's an official website that provides detailed information. We visited Nuuksio National Park in the northwest of Helsinki, taking the metro and then a bus, leisurely making our way there. There were many backpackers on the road, all heading for a hike. š We got off at Haltia and immediately went in the wrong direction, crossing the street to the service station. There were no hiking trails there, unless you were going to the restroom or renting a bike. We wasted some time before we actually entered the forest. Here, you can hike, camp, fish, cycle, pick mushrooms and raspberries, ride in a carriage, and rent a lakeside cabin for a sauna... It feels like there's so much to do! šļø š At the service station, we bought cute embroidered patches. The Siberian flying squirrel is one of the endangered species living in the Nuuksio forest area. Other national parks in different countries have their own animal representatives. š In the metro station restroom, there was a huge toilet bowl, with an imposing presence that felt like it could flush a person down. š Each station of the Helsinki metro is different and very deep. The escalators seem endless, giving a sense of traveling into the future. š #LetsExploreTheWorld #Nordic #Helsinki #NuuksioNationalPark
