Here’s What It’s Like To Tour With California Icons Metallica and Linkin Park, According To UK Band Architects

All year long, English band **Architects** have been on the road. They recently ended their North American [headlining tour](https://secretlosangeles.com/ariana-grande-tour-los-angeles/) in support of their latest album, *The Sky, The Earth & All Between*. The trek included [multiple California dates](https://secretlosangeles.com/benson-boone-favorite-places-la/), such as shows at **The Wiltern**, House of Blues in Anaheim, and The Masonic in San Francisco. *Secret Los Angeles* caught up with the **Architects** singer **Sam Carter** and drummer **Dan Searle** toask about their dream bands to tour with. Luckily for them, they listed bands they’ve already toured with: Metallica and Linkin Park! “It felt like a dream come true! It was a real line in the sand moment of like, ‘Oh, you are doing well.’ You’ve got that opportunity to support these two bands that when you were kids would be shocked if they knew we existed, you know?” says Carter. **“****Linkin Park** was a dream, really,” he continues. “You were playing to people, you knew you could get on board and win over. Like, if we could only show them our band, then their fans would like it. It was a great opportunity for us and really fun.” Architects haven’t served as support in a long time; they’ve been too busy headlining their own shows and playing various festivals. They also weren’t sure how they would be treated as support on these massive tours. “We were apprehensive, especially going into **Metallica**, because we thought that we might get sort of treated like second-class citizens, but it wasn’t like that at all. They made time to hang with us and go for dinner, and you know,” says Carter. Searle added, “We were really looked after, and it was cool to see that as a fan of theirs.” Metallica has generations of fans, and that was one of the elements that made it extra special for Carter. “I know it’s not every day you get to play to that kind of fanbase. With Metallica, it’s all so vast, you see people with their kids and their grandkids in the crowds,” he concludes. If you’re chosen to open for Metallica or Linkin Park, you’ve got to be doing something right! **Architects** continue their journey on the road, this time in Europe, to end their 2025 tour.
