Hidden Gem in Gardena: Wooden Box Steamed Duck That’s Too Good 😭

Is Gardena the new Koreatown? Seriously, why are there so many authentic Korean spots here? A Korean friend took me to this low-key traditional restaurant for cypress wood steamed smoked duck—and it absolutely blew my mind for the next 200 foodie years! 🦆✨ I was skeptical at first when he said “authentic Korean” in Gardena… until I saw the menu and noticed every table had a wooden box steaming with meat. Turns out, it’s their signature Korean cypress wood steamed dishes! We ordered: 🦆 Cypress Wood Steamed Smoked Duck Words can’t do it justice—looks light and healthy, but the smoke-infused duck is incredibly flavorful. Served in a wooden box, steamed briefly at the table, keeping the meat tender and aromatic. 🐖 Sundae (Korean Blood Sausage) I’ve had sundae all over LA, but this one made me truly appreciate it! Rich layers of pork blood and sticky rice—texturally perfect. 🦐 Seafood Pancake Even this classic was outstanding—loaded with ingredients and perfectly crispy. The vibe feels like a family-run restaurant in a small Korean town—everything handmade, heartfelt, and humble. If you’re tired of the usual army stew or KBBQ, this place offers something truly special. Yes, it’s a bit far (closer to Torrance), but it’s 100% worth the drive. Zero flaws, only flavor 🥢💫 📍 Baek am Korean Restaurant (백암순대) 14952 Crenshaw Blvd, Gardena, CA 90249 #LocalGem #FoodInspo #LADining #LAEats#GardenaEats #KoreanHiddenGem #TraditionalKorean #SteamedDuck
