π Hidden Gem in Japan: Ota City Museum
Hello! I'm Amy, the doll you haven't seen in a while! On my recent business trip, I passed through Ota City in Gunma Prefecture. πΈπ The Ota City Museum & Library here is quite famous. The Ota City Library is located right in front of the station. Although around 10,000 people pass through the station daily, few used to stop. πΈπ Architect Hirohisa Hirata designed a cultural complex to invigorate the surrounding space. πΏπThe building won the Japan Architectural Institute Award in 2022. Its design, inspired by airplane wings and propellers, pays homage to the Nakajima Aircraft Company, which was once a pillar of the city's industry. πΈπ As you approach the building, you can feel its welcoming and friendly aura. πΏπIt seems to beckon people to gather at this somewhat neglected station area, bringing vitality here like a flowing river. πΏ My favorite part is the children's book corner. The entrance is lined with little visitors' shoes, hinting at the fairy-tale world inside. πΈπSoft lighting and cozy spaces where kids can lie or sit freely to read fill the area with a quiet, empowering atmosphere. If you have the chance, do visit the Ota City Museum & Library and immerse yourself in the warm world surrounded by words. π πΏπ #JapaneseArchitecture #Gunma #OtaCityMuseum #JapanTravel #panpantut
