Hidden Gem in Philadelphia’s Center: Mari Mari

🍚Today, after work, I decided to take a stroll down Chestnut Street in the city center. I was drawn to this place by its menu visible through the glass door. I initially just wanted to take a look, but ended up making a purchase. 🍚As soon as I walked in, I saw these mini sushi rice packets displayed in the heated cabinet on the counter. They looked both delicious and exquisite. Checking the menu, I found out that this type of sushi is called “Inari.” The outer layer is a thick, fried tofu skin, wrapped around white rice and topped with various ingredients. 🍚I ordered four different kinds: Spicy Crab, Spicy Chicken, Garlic Shrimp, and Unagi (Eel). The four fit perfectly into a box, which was super cute and perfect for a photo. I couldn’t wait to try the Crab one on my way home, and it was amazing! The sweet tofu skin perfectly complemented the rice inside, and the top layer tasted like a crab salad, which is right up my alley. The shrimp one was good too, although the shrimp fell off by the time I got halfway home, haha. I gave the other two to my brother and a friend, and they both said they were great. Each piece costs around $2 to $4, and the total for the four was about $14. In addition to the sushi, I also bought their yuzu juice, mainly because of the attractive packaging. It was $5 a bag. The taste wasn’t overly sweet and had a slight tanginess, making it a refreshing drink that you can enjoy all the way through. I really like this place and plan to visit again sometime. They also have a branch in Hmart, which I’d like to check out as well. 📍105 S 13th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 #RestaurantShare #FoodieCheckIn #GlobalEatingSquad
