Hidden Gem in Santa Monica: A Love-at-First-Bite Italian Spot
Tucked inside a historic 1949 market in Mar Vista, Beethoven Market is a quiet treasure—though far from a secret. (It’s “hidden” only on social media!) I booked a week ahead for their Saturday brunch 🗓️. The vibe is simple, warm, and beautifully Italian. We sat on the patio and ordered: Lemon Ricotta Pancakes 🥞 Crispy Polenta with mushrooms & poached egg 🍄 Steak & Eggs 🥩 Zucchini Ricotta Pizza 🍕 Everything was fresh and delicious—except the steak was slightly tough. But the rest? So good I wanted to hug the chef 🤗❤️. For just over $100, we feasted (and over-ordered—two or three dishes are plenty for two). Compared to other pricey “pretty” L.A. spots, this place feels honest, generous, and deeply satisfying 💸✨. It’s easy to see why reservations are hard to get. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked—real food, real flavor, real value.
