Hidden Gem New Mexico|One Day in Taos 🧡
We stayed in Alamosa, the closest town to Great Sand Dunes National Park—right on the border of Colorado and New Mexico. It was freezing there! 🥶 Much colder than Taos or Santa Fe, but we finally got to see the "silver-wrapped world" from storybooks ❄️. Driving south, we soon entered New Mexico. The views along the way were absolutely breathtaking—worth every mile of the road trip! 📍 Rio Grande Gorge Bridge The 5th highest bridge in the U.S. 🌉 It was super windy and cold up there! You can park at the rest area where local Native artisans sell handmade crafts. 📍 Earthship Biotecture Just 5 minutes from the bridge. You can walk around outside and see these sustainable earth-friendly homes—they look like something out of Hobbiton! 🏡 Reminded me a lot of Arcosanti in Arizona. 📍 San Francisco de Asís Mission Church A charming and very photogenic church 📸, located close to downtown Taos. 📍 Taos Plaza So fun to explore! Lots of little shops and local vibes. 📍 Taos Pueblo $25 per person. It’s a small but deeply cultural experience—get a glimpse into traditional Pueblo life. 📍 Santuario de Chimayó A beautiful and unique historic church with a peaceful atmosphere. ⚠️ But heads up: right after visiting, on the way to Camel Rock, I got a speeding ticket 😭. There are tons of cops in that area—watch your speed! That said, the officer was super nice. We even chatted about my trip and which spots I’d visited. 📍 Camel Rock A cool camel-shaped rock formation 🐪🏔️—quick and fun photo stop! All these can easily be done in one day 👌✨ #NewMexicoTravel #Taos #NewMexicoGuide #RoadTripUSA
