High-Vibe Dining β Visiting LAβs Former Michelin Two-Star Spago
Today, I went to Spago with Nuomi for a belated birthday dinner π. We booked a 6:30 PM slot on OpenTable. Valet parking is available for $15. The dining area is well-lit β great for food photos! πΈ Overall, the food was impressive β after all, itβs a former two-Michelin-star restaurant founded by legendary chef Wolfgang Puck β quality is guaranteed! We ordered quite a lot, but here are the standout favorites:ππ 1οΈβ£ Tuna Tartare Cones I always order tuna tartare when available β and their sweet-and-sour cones paired with fresh tuna and wasabi were refreshing and delicious! 2οΈβ£ Lobster and Kohlrabi Salad Beautiful plating! Portion is on the smaller side, but the lobster was tender and sweet β enhanced by mint and wasabi. A winner! 3οΈβ£ Glazed Brussels Sprouts A small side dish I randomly added, but it turned out amazing! Miso-based glaze with juicy bacon bits β rich and savory. 4οΈβ£ New York Sirloin Steak We chose the 8oz steak, medium-rare β perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. The accompanying sauce was divine β full of umami! 5οΈβ£ Diver Scallops Scallops are a must-order for me. These came with delicious mushrooms and Warren pears β a sweet-tangy combo that worked beautifully. 6οΈβ£ Hearth-Baked Bread Basket A βbread gift boxβ for carb lovers like me! The bread in the wooden box was the best β dip it in the accompanying spread. 7οΈβ£ Apple Tart & Cheesecake Since it was a birthday meal, we chose photogenic desserts for writing messages.ππ Both were surprisingly delicious β a sweet, satisfying finish! P.S. Heard their duck breast and truffle pizza are also iconic β but we were too full this time. Next visit! #LADining #LAEats #LAPhotospots #LABirthday #LABars #LARestaurants #LACheckIn #LAMichelin
