Highly Recommended: Portland, Maine Lobster Roll

During our Road Trip from New Jersey to Canada’s Maritime Provinces, we passed through Portland, Maine, and spotted this charming little spot by the roadside 🚗. With its unassuming storefront and a few locals chatting at the tables, it felt like a hidden gem loved by the community—no flashy signs, just the kind of place that wins people over with good food 🏠. To our delight, this turned out to be the most affordable yet most delicious lobster roll we had during the entire Northeast journey, a pleasant surprise that made our stop even more memorable 🌟! The lobster meat inside was a total standout: plump, fresh, and served warm, a lovely contrast to the cold, mayo-heavy versions you often find elsewhere 🦞. We asked for an extra side of hot butter, and when we poured it over the tender lobster chunks, the golden liquid melted into every bite—releasing a rich, buttery aroma that filled our noses, while the natural sweetness of the seafood shone through perfectly 🧈. For the side, we swapped the usual French fries for potato salad, and it was a fantastic choice: creamy, lightly seasoned with dill and a touch of mustard, and its smooth texture balanced the heartiness of the lobster roll beautifully 🥔. On our way back, we just couldn’t get that lobster roll out of our minds—so we made a special detour to stop here again, eager to relive the flavor 🛣️. This time, we added fried oysters to our order: they were crispy on the outside with a light, flaky coating, and inside, the oysters were juicy and briny, carrying a fresh taste of the ocean that paired wonderfully with the lobster 🦪. What touched us most during both visits was the warm vibe between the owner and customers: every time someone finished their meal, they’d turn to the owner behind the counter and call out a loud, sincere “thank you,” grinning from ear to ear as they left 😊. I found myself wanting to join in too, my mouth still watering from the last bite, but I felt a little shy—though I’m sure my empty plate and satisfied smile said it all! #Maine #PortlandFood #LobsterRoll #RoadTrip #NortheastEats #LocalGem #FreshSeafood #FoodieAdventure #TravelEats #ButteryGoodness #CoastalEats #RoadTripTreats #MaineEats #LobsterLovers #FriedOysters
